THE Mayor of Deryneia Andros Karayiannis has said the new Green Line crossing point must use the existing one-kilometer long road and not an alternative route being mooted by Turkish Cypriot authorities.

His comments, reported by Kibris, come after an unnamed Turkish Cypriot official told the same publication that they have suggested using another road and were awaiting a response to the proposal from Greek Cypriot officials.

“This alternative road is located one kilometre in the west of the existing road,” the official said.
