Turkey aims to eliminate subsidies to northern Cyprus in the next few years, the Cyprus Weekly has learned.

Under the three-year financial protocol that is currently under negotiation, subsidies will drop to just TL 300 million (around €93m) in 2018 from around TL 412m in 2016 and TL 715m in 2016.
