Political dispute in the north has public sector on edge


Political fallout between the top parties in the north could leave public servants hanging with their salaries in danger.

The Turkish Cypriot National Unity Party (UBP), one of the partners in the coalition, is looking into pulling out of the partnership with the Republican Turkish Party (CTP).

An announcement late Thursday said that the party would be convening their party assembly group over the weekend to discuss the matter, following the fact that the coalition was unable to completely pay public servants this month.
