Recently, a lot of people in the governing party Disy talk about the luck, as they call it, of President Nicos Anastasiades. It’s a fact that he received some serious blows at the beginning of his term, especially on the economy front. But right now the President is perceived within his party to enjoy some kind of a honeymoon with voters. Financial experts predict that “the economy will do well in the rest of 2015 and will fly in 2016”. A prospect that could only enhance Anastasiades popularity, which by the way is not bad considering the approval ratings he’s getting not only for the economy but for his handling of Cyprob negotiations. By the way, Disy chairman Averof Neophytou shares the view that the economy will do well next year. Others though were less optimistic. They argue that the China crisis will hit Europe badly, and Cyprus won’t be unaffected.
