Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou on Monday granted 31 cash prizes of €10,000 to Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots helping to build the island’s bi-communal relations, within the framework of a charity project working for lasting peace on the island.

Addressing the ceremony at the Bi-communal Café of Stelios Philanthropic Foundation in old Nicosia, President Nicos Anastasiades stressed that “the impressive outreach and success of these awards should come as no surprise: Greek and Turkish Cypriots collaborated and co-created successfully for decades, proving that their common denominator, their Cypriot identity, and their common desire to prosper together, are strong and lingering”.
