Under the title “Great reaction from young people”, Turkish Cypriot daily Havadis newspaper (04.08.16) reports about the marching and the demonstration organized yesterday by the Reddediyoruz (We are rejecting) Platform.
The demonstration was organized prior to the decision of the “constitutional court” for the establishing by Turkey of the “coordination office for youth and sports” at the breakaway regime. The decision of the “court” will be announced on August 5.
The paper writes that the demonstrators gathered in front of the “assembly” and with songs and slogans shouted that they are against the establishment of such an office. Speaking during the rally, on behalf of the Reddediyoruz Platform, Zeki Celer, “deputy” with the Social Democracy Party (TDP), stated that the aim of the Platform’s actions is for the voice of young people to be heard and added that they reject the establishment of the “coordination office for youth and sports” at the breakaway regime.
Havadis further reports that after a demand of the Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, the “constitutional court” will announce tomorrow, August 5, its final “verdict” for the establishment of the “coordination office” as regards the “bilateral agreement” signed between Turkey and the breakaway regime” on the issue. The agreement had been approved by the “assembly”.
