Media on both sides of the green line are picking up on new chatter over the issue of opening a crossing in Dherynia, with speculation that a deal could be reached soon.
Following a political decision on May 28 between President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, when the two leaders discussed Confidence Building Measures (CBM), technical issues had quickly emerged raising doubts over a new checkpoint in the area.
But according to daily Kibris Postasi in the north which was quoted on Thursday in daily Phileleftheros, an announcement for opening a crossing could come sooner than later.
