What will the legislative branch of federal Cyprus look like? How will the law-making body take shape in case of a solution? What will the distribution of seats look like in a federal Parliament?
We all still have many questions on the negotiations. The leaders and negotiators have already answered some of these questions through public statements and interviews.
The Cypriot Puzzle has collected the most important aspects of the legislative chapter and presents them below.
Even though the legislative framework is agreed, some differences still exist among the two sides on certain issues. One such issue is whether the federal budget should be approved by a simple (ordinary) or a special majority. The Greek Cypriot side favours a simple majority while the Turkish Cypriot side requires a special majority.
