US Secretary of State John Kerry has said that the ongoing effort to reunite Cyprus is the best chance in decades.
Kerry, who was addressing the World Economic Forum, in Davos on Friday, covered all international conflicts, including a brief reference to Cyprus.
“Even in lands at peace, my friends, reconciliation is still an imperative, and we are working at it,” he said.
That is why, he added, “we’re supporting the best chance in decades to achieve a settlement in Cyprus.”
He recalled that he visited the island recently and that he “met with both leaders, had dinner with both of them together”.
“Others are engaged in trying to encourage this process,” he said.
