Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci on Monday repeated his conviction a solution could be reached in the coming months provided the current climate of goodwill continued.
According to a Cyprus News Agency (CNA) report on Akinci’s statements, he also said there were still issues to solve but that it was possible for referenda to be held in the coming months.
Akinci said it was important that the Greek Cypriots do not feel threatened but should, at the same time, show understanding for the Turkish Cypriot demands on guarantor powers and security issues. He expressed certainty that mutually acceptable arrangements could be reached.
