To celebrate the International Peace Day, Cypriot peace pioneers are organizing a full-day event on Sunday September 20th, at the Ledra Palace buffer zone (Home for Cooperation and nearby venues).
The event includes a morning conference that will focus on the need of forgiveness and reconciliation creating bridges between Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities and generations in Cyprus, with John McKinney as the keynote speaker.
The conference will be followed by a series of parallel workshops/group meetings for related organizations to either facilitate discussions on healthy issues surrounding the Cyprus situation, or to share their work on certain related matters with the public and help to increase understanding on Cyprus political matters related to peace.
There will also be a festival taking place throughout the afternoon and evening, to celebrate peace in the context of our multicultural island. Participants will enjoy various forms of entertainment, including music and dance, and will have the opportunity to support a charitable cause by purchasing food and drinks.
10:00 – 13:30 Conference
15:00 – 17:00 Workshops & Group meetings
17:00 – 22:00 Festival
The final programme and details, as well as the method of registration to these events (free of charge, on a first-come first-serve basis) will be announced on this page in the coming days. Participants must register for either or both the conference and the workshops, the festival will be open with no registration required.
