Eide, Kotzias discuss federal Cyprus’ security

Greek Foreign Minister Nicos Kotzias (photo) said on Monday that UN special envoy on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide was presented with a final solution to the divided island’s thorny security issue.

Talking after talks in Athens with the Norwegian diplomat, Kotzias, whose country is one of Cyprus’ guarantors, also said the two had a “sincere” and “substantial” discussion.

He added: “(I consider that) Mr Eide now knows better and can understand in detail the positions and arguments of the Greek Government.”
