Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Saturday thanked US Vice President Joe Biden for visiting Cyprus, saying the United States would have an important role in Cyprus peace talks.

At a news conference following a meeting with Biden in Istanbul, Davutoglu also spoke about Syria and Iraq.
