Anastasiades gives little hope of talks restarting


PRESIDENT Anastasiades gave his version of events that led to the collapse of the Crans-Montana conference in his televised address on Monday night. He said little that was not known, reported earlier by the journalists covering the conference, although he added some details to the narrative. Asked why UNSG Antonio Guterres had not blamed the Turkish side for the collapse, Anastasiades attributed his cautious stance to an attempt to keep the settlement efforts going within the UN framework.
