Andros Kyprianou, the leader of Akel, has a good reason to be pleased these days.
The President, Nicos Anastasiades, briefs him on Cyprob and seemingly listens to Andros’ views when they meet at the Palace on a one-to-one basis. Anastasiades knows that without Akelite support he won’t be able to sell an agreement on the political problem, provided he gets to that stage with Mustafa Akinci.
This simple truth, obviously, has not escaped Andros, who was quick to set his terms to the President right from the start…….
