Foreign diplomats, political analysts and commentators were all asking the same question. Why Nicos Anastasiades waited to go to America for the UN General Assembly to talk repeatedly about the need for Turkey to prove, with certain actions, its stated willingness to solve the Cyprus problem.
Some diplomats even said that Anastasiades should not talk so much about Turkey’s potential actions. This way, they argued, he makes the public think that Turkey will take some positive steps before an agreement is made.
